I don't have the perfect answer on the other hand do have a response which enables sense in my experience this is why...
I began using an ambition to skip packaged baby food as a whole and become the trooper mom who feeds her child fresh, pureed vegetables and fruits. Once we dived deeper into your weeks of solids, I noticed how unrealistic this goal is, personally. We started buying organic pouches mostly by Plum, Sprout and Ella's. I, certainly, loved and still love how convenient they may be. Unscrew the cap, squeeze and serve, awesome!
I probably looked over the components of those pouches (that I bought) as well as tell the truth you'll find nothing scary put into them. They do contain the foods how they state they contain with the exception of once they state "beans" and incredibly there may be bean flour combined in or rice and once again they have got added rice flour to the mix. The ingredient list order reflects foods in line with the amount; the highest being number on the market one and many others. Thus, making this all good and dandy until...
Until you purchase a packaged food for the food featured about it such as quinoa or chicken. The pouch will voice it out contains them and sure it can but you are somewhere down the ingredient list. Top about the ingredient list generally is a fruit or perhaps a vegetable that's cheap to obtain/produce and, sometimes not too nutrient dense. This is certainly the death of packaged foods.
The next issue the flavor. The food in the pouches and jars may taste okay even so the tastes are not real. The meal tastes like adult canned food which is to be expected but...
Ask yourself the following questions: Is this what you need your child to taste constantly? Can someone really say baby likes yams when she had only tried the pouch kind? You function as the judge. Cook some yams and mash them up and compare them together with the packaged yam, big difference.
Here is how I go about packaged foods: I steal ideas at their store!
I often look at the combinations they've and then suggest my own. By way of example, I frequently make broccoli with apples or kale with apples and carrots. My property made combinations taste a great deal of much better than the pouch foods. Yams, for instance, taste very different versus the pouched yams. So just as before, are we really introducing our babies to real tastes by giving them mostly pre-made foods? Personally i think that if I only used packaged food I'd personally somehow be cheating my daughter as being the foods don't taste like whole, fresh produce. This is simply not to state never utilize them! I learned to make a balance and I make sure my baby eats one or more hand made meal on a daily basis. I spend some day a week making baby food (about 3 hours) i make extra i then freeze. I take advantage of the frozen meals within 1-2 weeks. I also stick enough within the fridge to last 72 hrs. I take advantage of pouches when on the run or when baby would go to spend the day at grandma's. It truly does work!
So in conclusion, I believe that pouches needs to be utilized as a back and real food may come first. That's my personal opinion as well as the "dietitian in me" opinion. I think it's really important show them real food from the comfort of the start. It tastes different, it tastes better, it's more whole and nutritious.
